Took me about 4 hours to complete this painting, started experimenting with soft focus on the painting, Need some more practice with that I guess. Comments and suggestions are welcome.
jdglfghfghtigdfgadgshfhsfg, I cannot put into words how completely IN LOVE I am with this piece. ;A;
The colors, the lighting, the atmosphere, the way she fades out, the whole design, I love it~
A couple of points though.
It's kinda distracting to have the rest of the picture in such hyper-detail, and then have her sleeves look sloppy.
There are a couple other parts that look a little rushed/sloppy, like some of the hair on the top of her head, and the joint between her 3rd and 4th horn segments of the horn above her left eye.
One final thing, the hair strand just to the right of her left eye; you can see the that skin-flap-thing through her hair. Same with the hair going over her shoulder.
Aside form that, I can't find anything.
Again, a billion and a half kudos for doing this, it's super duper lovely, and I LOVE it~
I really love the shading in this, especially the loose shading around her shoulder. It looks like silk. I like the way you've defined some areas of the painting and left others a little messy, it creates a wonderful focal point.
The face mask and horns look a little two dimensional though, they need some darker shading around the edges where light wouldn't hit them. The texture and colour of that part is wonderful, though; it really does look like shiny metal.
The hair could also use some lighter highlights to match the lighting of the rest of the picture. You have the flow spot on, but the lack of shading and 'flyaway' hair strands makes it look out of place and doesn't really match the rest of the piece.
I would suggest keeping the hair low detail though still even with some highlighted areas- because I do like how the hair frames their face by being darker.
Really cool design and idea, love the colours also. Great work!
It's so intriguing I'm almost to the point of willing to take her mask off! Her eyes are outstanding!!! I love it. But is her mouth a part of a mask or is it her?
This caught my eye right away from the thumbnail, and I'm still fascinated by it. That mask she's wearing is awesome, and the stitched-up mouth is a great touch. Also, I'm not sure what that stuff under her ear is(peeling skin?), but it looks cool too.
The monochromatic redness of the picture helps set the mood of this picture in a huge way. Although she would look evil either way, what with the horns and red hair, the colour scheme still adds a lot to it. The way you made a foggy background also works really well alongside the red. The best example of that being where the right horn appears to start turning into smoke.
Overall, I'm not sure how you could improve this. Aside from that her mouth seems a bit too low, the picture is amazing already. You clearly know how to pick the best colour schemes for what you want to do, as well as backgrounds and just general stuff. Keep it up!
Critique for FF [this time I remembered]: I shall start off with [excuse my language]..DAMN!!! The impact from this piece is outstanding!! the technique you say was experimentation but this looks just amazing!! kind of reminds me of bleach, those things that have the white face, but anyways the technique is extremely well done, although I would suggest that her ear not be so blurred as it might prove to be a distraction of sorts. but the flesh-like texture coming off her face and neck, the glow of the horns and the horns themselves, the sewn cheeks, her eye, it all outstanding work!! Keep on doing what you do!! you are gonna become GREAT in the future one day
this is awesome, I love the tones and the design of the mask itself leaving one eye uncovered. the way the way the horns melt with the background and turn somelike into smoke looks very awesome too definitely faved!
